I've accepted an offer of enrollment - now what?
Registration Materials
As part of the registration process in the spring/summer (after receiving an offer of admission), we require three documents:
- birth certificate or other age verification, e.g. passport
- immunization record
- early childhood screening (Kindergarten only)
Early Childhood Screening
From the Minnesota Department of Education:
The Early Childhood Screening program includes vision and hearing, height and weight, immunization review, review of health care coverage, risk factors which may impact learning, large and small muscles, thinking, language and speaking skills as well as parent report of social emotional development, and a parent summary meeting. Early Childhood Screening (ECS) by a school district or evidence of a comparable screening by a non-school provider is required for entrance in Minnesota’s public schools.
TCGIS requires incoming Kindergarten students to submit the report/summary from their ECS as part of their registration documentation. Click here to read more about the ECS. Most parents complete the ECS through their local school district. You can search PollFinder to find which school district you live in, and then find it in MDE's list of screening providers. HelpMeConnect is another useful tool for finding your local school district as well as other resources.

School Supplies And Start/End Times
If you're joining TCGIS after the first day of school, the Enrollment Coordinator will work with you to determine what day your child(ren) will start school.
Please view the supply lists for grades K-8 to know what to bring to school on the first day.
Classes start at 8:15 AM, but your child should arrive by 8:10 to have time to get to class. The school day ends at 3:15 on most days, with early release days ending at 12:45. Early release days, as well as other school events, are posted on our calendar.
Please view the family handbook for arrival and dismissal procedures at TCGIS.

Pikmykid and dismissal
TCGIS uses the Pikmykid app to coordinate end-of-day dismissal options for elementary school students. Please download the app from the Apple or Google Play store. If you're joining before the start of the school year, you will receive information about adding your children to Pikmykid in August. If you're joining after the start of the school year, please send up to 2 guardians' names and cell phone numbers to [email protected].
Anyone who will be picking up your child must also register themselves with the application. Their screen will be blank until you assign them authorization within the app.
You will tell us what your child's default dismissal mode should be:
Any day your child’s dismissal plan is different from their default mode or someone else is picking them up, please submit a pickup mode change or delegation change. Some additional options include Girl Scouts, enrichment classes, and sports. You can also set changes to recur if, for example, they attend Kinderclub on the same day every week.
You will receive a paper tag for your car for Van Slyke Car Pickup. Please place this in the passenger window of your car.
If you do not have a smartphone, you may register your child with Pikmykid through the web application by visiting this link. If you require a code or have questions, please call PikMyKid at: 813-452-5361 and they should be able to help you.
Additional Pikmykid resources:
TCGIS only uses Pikmykid for elementary school students; middle school students are trusted to coordinate their dismissal plan with their parents/guardians. If questions arise, the front office will call home.
