Library Club

Library club members plan a library event, design and set up monthly book-related displays in the library, and "adopt" a bookshelf to keep organized. There are two sessions per year, one in the fall and one in the spring. We meet on Wednesdays. Contact Frau Zimmerman for more information.

Girl Scouts

A Girl Scout troop for TCGIS students began in 2015. The troop is multi-level for students in grades K-8, as well as a group for TCGIS alums. The troop has provided services for the school, neighborhood, and community, as well as fun and educational activities. If you are interested, contact Kirsten Holmlund at kirstenlholmlund@gmail.com.

Math Club

The TCGIS Math team is an opportunity for 6th - 8th grade students interested in additional mathematical challenges beyond what they are experiencing in class. Math team meets once a week from mid-September through the end of April for an hour. This year, the math team will represent TCGIS in three different math competitions: the Minnesota State Junior High School League, Math Counts, and the American Mathematics Competition. In practices, students learn tips and strategies for solving common mathematical problems and hone their skills in mock competitions. At meets, they compete in individual and team competitions. At the end of the season, the team will celebrate their accomplishments with an end-of-the-year party. More information here! Please contact Herr Graf for more information.

Music Lessons & Choir

Vienna Community Arts offers after school private studio instruction in piano, violin/viola, ukulele, and classical guitar. Lessons are at TCGIS. Find more information on the Vienna Community Arts website or contact Herbert or Nancy.

Our TCGIS after-school choir is led by Herbert Engelmayer of Vienna Community Arts. Together we explore traditional and contemporary song repertoire in German. Students in grades 3-8 are welcome to join.  Contact Herbert at infoviennarts@gmail.com.
We acknowledge and appreciate that TCGIS is located on Waȟpékhute (wah-PEH-koo-tay) Dakota traditional, ancestral, and contemporary homeland, near Lake Medewaka, in the land now known as Minnesota (Mni Sota Makoce). Read our full TCGIS Indigenous Land Acknowledgement here.
