Camps Offered In Summer 2026                    

TCGIS Summer Camp Leaders are Staff who teach their courses in German or in English; camps led in English are noted.  Camp Counselors speak German, so in English-led camps the languages will be both German and English. 

Registration age is based on this school year (i.e., if your child is currently in second grade, please register in the K-2 camps). Registration is also open for 2026-27 Kindergarteners (Please sign them up as Grade Pre-K).

Cancellations and Changes:

  • Camp canceled by TCGIS will be refunded 100%. 
  • A cancellation fee of $25 per child/per camp will be charged to families who cancel prior to the registration deadline (April 30, 2026).
  • No refunds will be issued after May 1st, 2026. ​

 Week 1 / June 22-26

W1 Creative Kids (In English, with Camp Counselors speaking German) (Grades preK-2) - Frau Huesman
Creative kids craft camp is a hands-on summer camp where kids get to paint, glue, build, and explore their imagination. Each day focuses on a fun new project designed to help campers express themselves, learn new techniques, and have tons of creative fun!

W1 Summer Lanterns in German (Grades preK-2) - Frau Sindel
In this fun and creative workshop, children create charming paper lanterns inspired by the colors and feeling of summer. With a variety of papers, patterns, and decorations to choose from, children can let their imagination wander as they craft a lantern that reflects their own style. Each camper will take home a delightful handmade lantern as a sweet reminder of their time at camp.

W1 Sports in German (Grades preK-2)(3-7) - Herr und Frau Fretwell
We will play games, soccer, hockey, basketball and more sports. You will spend half the day with Frau Fretwell and the other half with Herr Fretwell. You will be grouped by age/ability and we will be inside and outside. We want you to have fun and be active so come dressed to move.

W1 Young Track Athletes in German (Grades 3-7)  - Herr Tabisz
In track camp, we will learn the basics about the different disciplines: running, jumping, throwing and sprinting. We will play games that work on technique for each discipline. This is a great introduction to the world of track-and-field.

W1 Puzzle Camp in German (Grades 3-7) - Em Knoer
In this engaging, mystery-solving week-long adventure, learners will use logic, reasoning, and problem-solving skills to solve a variety of jigsaw, tactile, word, and number puzzles that range in difficulty.


Week 2 / June 29-July 3

W3 Costume Lab (In English, with Camp Counselors speaking German) (Grades 3-7) - Frau Rasmusson
Have you ever wanted to create the perfect Halloween costume? What about a Renaissance Faire outfit? Or a Cosplay creation? Bring your project and we will work on the skills you need together. We will do this lab style so everyone will need to bring their own project and figure out the skills and materials you need to make your vision come to life. Some of the things we might encounter are sewing, painting, sculpting and more.

Clark, a former MSUM Player and AAU Coach.

Natural Art (Natürliche Kunst) camp will focus on learning basic art techniques while combining natural and "non-natural" elements. Some activities we will do together include making and using natural dyes, making prints with solar paper, pressing leaves and flowers, making leaf rubbings, building fairy houses, and doing blind drawings of each other and things we find interesting outside.
