$30k by the 30th of May!

Donate Here
Although warmer temps and colorful tulips haven’t yet “popped,” generosity is in full bloom at TCGIS as we kick-off our Spring Campaign!

Join TCGIS for Fundraising Fridays as we help our school raise $30,000 by the end of May! Each Friday in May, volunteers will be on the TCGIS playground offering our community the chance to support the TCGIS Annual Fund. Gifts of all sizes make a difference! Plus, you will have the opportunity to celebrate teachers, staff, students, friends or family with a personalized paper flower that will be “planted” in our Garden of Gratitude. We hope you will join us for this very special opportunity!
Please consider making a gift to this year’s Spring Campaign to help TCGIS raise the remaining $30,000 needed to meet its annual fundraising goal of $110,000. There are so many easy ways to give!

Honor a TCGIS student, staff member or community member by “planting” a flower in our Garden of Gratitude.
Tribute gifts of ANY size will be recognized on a paper flower displayed on our cafeteria windows beginning in mid-May. Flowers will be distributed to honorees before the last day of school. Make a tribute gift here.

Consider signing up for a recurring gift to support the TCGIS Annual Fund.
Monthly gifts are a convenient way to make a big difference for our school!

All gifts to the TCGIS Annual Fund support the wonderful programs that make our German immersion school so unique, so what are you waiting for? Spring into action today by supporting the TCGIS Annual Fund! TCGIS Online Giving Page

P.S. Does your employer offer a matching gift program or the option to make donations through a giving platform? If so, your gift to TCGIS could be matched and make an even bigger difference for our school.

Why do we fundraise at TCGIS?

Like traditional public schools, TCGIS receives state and federal funding to operate. However, charter schools do not benefit from local property taxes or levies. This results in a roughly $6,000 per pupil difference at TCGIS compared to local traditional public schools like St Paul Public Schools.

This basic public funding covers our school’s operating costs.  However, as a language immersion school, TCGIS has additional  expenses that other English language instruction schools do not:
  • we host native-German-speaking interns each semester;
  • our students use German-language curricular and library materials we order from Germany;
  • we hire native-speaking teachers from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland which involves financing Visas;
  • we encourage professional development for teachers specifically around language-immersion education.
For all of these reasons, TCGIS’ annual fundraising goal is a line item in the school’s annual budget.

The majority of TCGIS’s annual fundraising comes from charitable donations made by individual families, many of whom leverage their employer’s matching funds programs or elect to make a recurring monthly donation. Click here to make a one-time or recurring donation online.
