Sponsorship Opportunities

Schöne Grüsse von der Twin Cities German Immersion School!

In our ever-changing, globally interconnected world, it becomes more important with every passing year to understand, and communicate with others of diverse backgrounds. At the Twin Cities German Immersion School, a public charter school, our children and our staff do this every day. Our shared mission goes well beyond biliteracy in German and English.
TCGIS students strengthen our communities. Their foundation in multiple languages, proven academic outcomes, creative problem-solving skills and commitment to team performance position TCGIS students well as future employees in an ever adapting market.

Committed to our mission of “Innovative education of the whole child through German immersion,” our public charter school has grown from 46 students in 2005 to over 500 in grades K-8 in 2018. For the second year in a row, we have over 100 new families applying for admission to next year’s Kindergarten class, with a substantial wait list!

A few TCGIS fast facts:
  • We are Minnesota’s only German immersion school.
  • TCGIS is consistently among state leaders in statewide tests.
  • TCGIS has been identified as a MN Rewards School and a High Quality Charter School by the MN Dept. of Education.
  • Our partnership with St. Paul’s Central High School now makes it possible for our students to pursue immersion level German, K-12 and achieve the Minnesota Certificate of Biliteracy.
  • Every TCGIS 8th grader has the opportunity to participate in our exchange program to Germany.

Why do we need your support?
As a public charter school, TCGIS is funded at 65% of traditional public schools, yet we have expenses beyond those of traditional public school such as
  • recruiting and retaining teachers with native fluency in German
  • hosting native German speaking interns in our classrooms
  • providing our teachers with professional development that fits our intercultural mission
  • purchasing German language materials and resources to support our curriculum

Your financial support would allow much needed dollars to be spent on investing in the next generation of leaders.
We thank you for your consideration.
