Events and Fundraisers
PTO Events and FundraisersThe fundraisers below support the PTO’s budget. We don’t expect families to participate in every fundraiser, but we hope this information will help you determine which events best fit your interests, so that you can make plans to support them if you so choose.
2021 Variety Show![]() Due to so many events being cancelled (and our biggest gathering and fundraiser, Maskenball, twice) because of Covid-19, we knew we needed a virtual event to bring our community together and lift spirits.
Our amazing Fundraising Chair has collected recorded performances from musicians, magicians, comedians, fire dancers, jugglers, and more! It’s going to be a Can’t Miss Show - one night only! The Show is free for all TCGIS Community but you must register to receive the link. Check out a preview of the show here. And a second preview here! There are options for donations and even an Amazing Swag Bag! All information on the event, tickets and Swag Bag can be found here. |

AuctionThe 20/21 PTO Community Auction and Strudel Sale was held on 10/20-10/29.
The Auction is the PTO’s largest fundraiser of the year and is a unique combination of in-kind donations, baked goods, handmade items, and priceless donated experiences provided by staff, teachers, and parents. Our 2020 Auction and Strudel Sale raised over $5,000. Due to Covid-19, donations were down, as people tend to offer a lot of Great Gatherings to bring the community together. Hopefully next year, they will be back! The Auction committee is looking for donations of items and events to include in the Auction, along with volunteers to help run the online auction. Please visit the Auction website to learn more about what it is, how (and what) to donate, and volunteer opportunities. |
HalloweenThe PTO held its first (but hopefully not the last) Halloween Event on October 31, 2020
Born out of the desire for a safe community event amid a pandemic where distance learning and social distancing was our norm, the PTO put together an amazing group of parent volunteers and TCGIS Staff to pass out candy to the kids. We look forward to a bigger event in 2021! |
Simpls SoupsWe partnered with local company Simpls Soups for one of our tastiest Fundraisers. The 2020 sale was held from November 23rd to December 20th, and we earned $1910.

Box TopsLearn about the Box Top Bonus App and other ways you can support the program.
The PTO collects Box Tops on behalf of the school. The Box Tops for Education program adds up to over $1,000 each year for TCGIS. Box Tops are submitted in groups of 25, either via the collection sheets or clear plastic bags; completed sheets and bags of 25 can be submitted via the classroom or dropped at the front office. We do have small prizes for each student who turns in a collection sheet or plastic bag. The first class to reach 500 Box Tops will win a prize for the entire room. So clip those Box Tops, check the expiration date and send them to school. |
Davanni's Pizza NightDavanni’s donates a portion of their sales to TCGIS on designated evenings. Be social and join other TCGIS families at the restaurant, or take your meal home for a quiet night in. Join us on:

Regional picnic potluck -DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, 2020 PICNICS WERE NOT HELD Held at the beginning of the school year, regional picnics are roughly organized around the four bus routes, and help you find other TCGIS parents in your area. Join us at these potluck picnics to you and discuss carpooling, play dates, and other types of meet-ups.
Grade level events - Cancelled due to Covid-19 Kindergarten Play Date: Start meeting new families and let the kids play outside of school hours.
Game Night: This evening event brings TCGIS families together for fun and games. Just bring your favorite games and snacks to share. Learn a new game, meet a new friend, have fun. Simple!

Staff and Intern Support Activities The PTO puts on a number of staff appreciation activities throughout the year to show our support for teachers and other staff. We provide pizza for parent-teacher conferences, offer a luncheon each December, and have put on a variety of events to show our appreciation -- ranging from gift cards to a yogurt bar and chair massages.
