Hello! My name is Nadja and I live in a little village at the edge of the black forest, called Bösingen. I am 25 years old and finished my studies at the University of Education in Heidelberg in october. Before I start working as a teacher for kids with special needs, I would like to gain work experience in a school abroad. In my freetime i love to meet my friends, go out for a walk or a run, go hiking in the mountains, go dancing and travel. I am really excited to experience the 'american way of life', especially the life in Minnesota! I love to meet my friends, go shopping or go for a walk with them. Once per week I go to the dance training of the sportsclub at my hometown. On the weekend I watch my boyfriend play soccer or go for a run. When its rainy outside, I like to go in the cinema, go bowling or something else. During the holidays I love to go hiking in the mountains! |
My name is Ella and I am 22 years old. I study elementary school education in Frankfurt and I am glad to participate in the Intern Program of the TCGIS. I am really excited to get part of the school for 6 months and to support the teachers and students there. I hope I can bring in my ideas and experiences and learn a lot for my own teacher training. Thanks a lot! In my free time I really like to do sports. I trained track and field for about 10 years and since one year I play soccer in a women's team. Furthermore I love to laugh, have fun and go out with friends. I often go for a walk with my dog and cook or bake. Above all I love spending time with my boyfriend, with my family and my friends. In addition to that I have a very extraordinary hobby which is to tidy up and to clean up nearly everything. :) |

Sending love from Hannover Besides studying and meeting my friends I love to skateboard in my free time. I listen to music (almost everything), love to take walks, and watch sports events. |
Moin moin! I'm Laura (28) from Oldenburg in Northern Germany. I'm currently earning my master's degree in elementary education at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. My subjects are German and Textile Design. I'm probably going to graduate when I'm with you, so you can celebrate with me :) I love traveling and the outdoors and I can't wait to meet you and explore Minnesota! I have many friends from all over the world and we love to discuss funny or interesting cultural differences. I'm also volunteering at my university to help international students to integrate. I love hiking, but there are not many possibilities to hike where I live. The most beautiful but challenging hike was Angels Landing in Zion National Park, Utah. I also loved the Grand Canyon and Yosemite. My dream destinations are Alaska and Patagonia. I am spending my free time at the lake or going on bike rides. As I don't have a driver's license (yet), riding my bike is my main means of transport actually (which is very common in Northern Germany). I really like studying and academic reading and writing. I'm even thinking about doing a doctorate after my graduation. At the moment I am really interested in AI and how you can implement it to make learning easier. Furthermore, I'm very interested in technology and recent spaceflights. |
Hallo, "Servus"!
My name is Bernadette (22) and I'm from Riederich (near Stuttgart in Baden-Württemberg, Germany). I study German and PE at Ludwigsburg University of Education and I'm just starting my master's degree to become an elementary school teacher later on. I love to do sports, travel, walk with my dog in nature and meet friends. So far, I've never been to the United States and I'm incredibly excited to experience life on the other side of the world and be part of TCGIS! In my free time I mainly do sports (apparatus gymnastics and in winter skiing/snowboarding) and coach kids in my sports club (also apparatus gymnastics). I also like to go out in nature with our dog, meet with friends or be creative. In Germany, I am also involved as a volunteer learning mentor. There I support a student weekly with her schoolwork and we practice together what she does not understand. I can't wait to see you, Sending you "Herbstliche Grüße" (as we say for greetings in autumn)! |

Hi there! My name is Larissa and I'm from Dieburg (which is near Frankfurt). I studied primary school teaching education at Goethe University in Frankfurt. I'm currently doing my final exams for the first state examination, so I'll graduate from University in December 2021. As I already mentioned I love to travel, get to know new places and people and I've also already stayed with host families. In my free time I enjoy meeting up with friends, exploring new places and taking photos. One of my biggest passion is going to the gym. Hallo! My name is Lena Spriestersbach, I’m 22 years old and from Rastatt, which is in the south of the Black Forest. I’m studying to become a primary school teacher with the main subjects English and German at the Pädagogische Hochschule Ludwigsburg. I indeed love traveling and exploring a city or nature, doing trips, going for walks and hiking or visiting the museum. I lived in South Korea for half a year before; overall I am very interested in Asian culture, especially in Japan. In my free time I like to just stroll around town, meet with friends to go shopping or get lunch. I'm very interested in art, so I like to go to museums every once in a while, those not only being art related, instead mostly any kind. Spending time outside, going for walks and having a picnic or going on smaller hikes are things I really enjoy when it comes to outside activities. I like to read, I try to keep informed about politics and of course I also like the obvious: to just stay in and watch Netflix. I’m very excited for my time in Minnesota, at TCGIS and with the host family! Hope to see you soon, Lena. |
