Innovation needs Investment
Donations from parents, family and friends are essential to maintaining the excellent education TCGIS students receive. It’s essential because charter schools are not funded at the same levels of public schools. Using audited fiscal year 2014 numbers from the Department of Education, TCGIS received $7,943 per student while Saint Paul Public Schools received $13,859 per student. This is a difference of approximately $6,000 per student.
TCGIS is able to provide state leading levels of education with less per student because of its board, administrators, teachers, parents and community working not just harder but smarter. Every donation allows TCGIS to expand on everything that hard and smart work has already accomplished. Prior donations helped fund the new school and its associated build out. Donations allow TCGIS to place an Amity intern in every classroom to assist teachers and grow student understanding of the German language and culture. Teachers utilize donations to enrich their classrooms with supplies and events. Donations have also been used outside the classroom with the new playground equipment and we are adding student requested outdoor ping pong tables this fall which your donation will support!
It doesn’t take the shortfall of $6000 per student in donations to achieve this. It takes much less from each family. TCGIS would like to see every family donate and be part of the rewards it provides. It doesn’t matter if the donation is as small as a coffee each month or a significant one time event. No amount is too little and conversely no amount is too large.
TCGIS would like to see each family donate $20 per month. You may use the form below to enter your credit card information. On the 10th of each month, the tax deductible amount you designate will be deducted and donated to TCGIS to continue and further it’s excellent education.
